“Last summer our family had a great opportunity to spend a month in Asia. After picking China and Vietnam we did not have much of a clue, and time was short. Julie jumped on it, quickly understood the type of travel we wanted and put together a fantastic itinerary with local guides and drivers on a reasonable budget. Julie was knowledgeable, extremely responsive and a real pleasure to work with.
We ended up spending several days in Beijing, then flew south to Yunnan Province. From the capital of Kunming we travelled by van for eight days through the mountain ranges in the eastern side of Yunnan – beautiful scenery, some of the highest rice-terraced mountains in the world, and delicious food. As we hoped, it was rustic and well off the beaten path for most travelers.
Seeing Vietnam was fantastic, and especially interesting for someone who grew up during the Vietnam War (American War to them!) The Vietnamese people were incredibly open and friendly and it is a great country for tourists. Hanoi was a real highlight – great restaurants and a renowned street food scene, rich architecture and history, and overall a vibrant bustling place.”
